The New McDonald’s Coffee Case?
Posted on June 18, 2008 - Filed Under Law, Random
I’m sick of the constant anecdotal example of frivolous lawsuits - the case where the woman sued McDonald’s after she was burned by hot coffee. Well, The Smoking Gun has a new case that may replace it (let’s hope anyway).
The thong case has all the ingredients for widespread appeal…lingerie for an older woman and a life-altering poke to the eye.
I think the obvious questions are:
- Who tries on a thong?
and
- Why was a 52 year-old woman trying on a thong?
Let’s hope this case sticks.
Con Law

Remember my good news list with the following item?
- I think I was able to make some coherent arguments on my Con Law final
Turns out that was completely false. No coherent arguments were apparently made.
Grades

Well, I’m consistent. Today we got most of our second semester grades. I think it’s odd that I’ve received the same grade in every class, both semesters. Last semester I thought it was a fluke that all my grades were the same. This semester, I know something is up. Is it that I understand each area of law equally or am I the product of the curve?
I’d bet on the latter.
Two Milestones

- Peri is saying her own name. Something we’ve tried to get her to do for quite a while.
- Jaden now has an email account. In one day, he sent me 10 messages…mostly containing “Jaden”, “no”, both, or jibberish. It’s the beginning of the end.

2 down, 2 to go. If anyone knows the one search for question 7 of the PR final, please let me know. I hope I’m not the only one that was confused by that question.
As a side note, am I the only person that thinks the animations in the Charles Schwab commercials are creepy?
I’ll smack you in the mouth, I’m Neil Diamond!

Neil Diamond was the artist on American Idol this week. It reminded me of one of my favorite SNL skits. It’s 10 years old and I still use the line “I’ll smack you in the mouth, I’m Neil Diamond!” Good stuff.
Also, Property is done. Three more to go…
Fall Schedule
Posted on April 27, 2008 - Filed Under Law

Luckily, I was able to stay awake and got in all the classes I wanted for the Fall (classes are listed on the far right sidebar). The bulk of my classes will be on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, with only one class on Wednesday’s and Friday’s. It will be nice to have Monday’s for extra study time. It might also allow me to sneak home for a Marshall football game or two.
Overall, I think I have a good mixture of classes, but I am concerned about putting App Ad off until the Spring. Hopefully that move won’t prove too costly. Although as it currently stands, I don’t see any problem with waiting.
Registration
Posted on April 22, 2008 - Filed Under Law

Tonight begins the madness of registering for Fall classes. I have to stay up until midnight, which is late for me (I’m old). If I don’t stay up, I will likely miss out on one of my classes. I’m trying to setup a schedule that will put most of my classes on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, while leaving Monday completely open.
We will see what the night brings…
Untitlable

Some random stuff:
Last LRRW paper is over. Only thing left is oral argument. Luckily we are restricted to 5 minutes. I will probably use 1 minute (that’s what she said).
I won my first trial today. Not for Najeh Davenport. My brother had a covenant issue in his neighborhood. It was a ridiculous claim. I only helped with his answer and outlining his argument. He could have easily won without my help, but I’m still taking credit.
I’m not sure why I always blank on questions in class. I’m also not sure why I’m not really bothered by it. I guess I’d rather crash and burn everyday in class than crash and burn once on a final. Class for show, finals for dough. That’s corny.
